This drink is inspired by Meredith Baird's coconut kitchen recipe book. One of the main ingredients is matcha. What is matcha? Matcha comes from the same species of plant as green leaf teas. It is processed tea leaves that have been stone-ground into a delicate powder. Matcha is used in Japanese tea ceremony. For more information on matcha's health benefits, please read them here.
I'm a huge fan of this smoothie because it has all the right ingredients such as coconut, frozen ripe banana to make it creamier and fresh pineapple that goes perfectly with the matcha. This smoothie is perfect to throw into a pre-workout drink.
